a) Collection of data using direct observation would be an observation where you really know and see the spend being made. For example, your father, mother, and other family members.

b) Collection of data using surveys where you send a set of questions via some medium, it can be a google form, some document, or a survey website like SurveyMonkey.

c) Stratified random sampling means you pick random sample but in the same proportion on the base of any variable it can be people who live in cold weather or hot weather and we ensure that our sample has the same proportion of people living in cold and hot as they are in the population. For example, some countries like India, Bangladesh are experiencing hot weather whereas countries like Russia and countries in Europe have comparatively cold weather.

d) In cluster sampling the population is first divided in clusters, this cluster can be on different basis like age, gender, etc. and then a random sample from cluster is picked.
