Answer:
A buffer solution is defined as
Weak acid with it's salt of conjugate base or
Weak base with it's salt of conjugate acid.
(a) 0.31 M HCN + 0.27 M NaCN
Here HCN is weak acid and CN^- is conjugate base of HCN.
NaCN is salt of CN^-.
Therefore it is good buffer.
(b) 0.29 M HI + 0.20 M NaI.
Here HI is strong acid and NaI is salt of I^-.
But it is not a good buffer.
(c) 0.27 M NH4Br + 0.31 M NH3
Here NH3 is weak base and NH4^+ is conjugate acid of NH3 and NH4Br is it's salt.
Therefore it is a good buffer.
(d) 0.11 M NaF + 0.27 M HF
Here HF is weak acid and NaF is sodium salt of conjugate base F^-.
Therefore it is a good buffer.
(e) 0.11M HClO + 0.16 M KClO
Here HClO is weak acid and KClO is potassium salt of it's conjugate base ClO^-.
So it is also a good buffer.
