Basil Kolani’s 10th-grade social media class at the Dwight School on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is not a traditional classroom. Meeting at 8 p.m. on a Wednesday, the class is conducted entirely online. The topics for the class include “Your thoughts after last class,” “Credible sources,” and “The online magazine.” Students press buttons to raise their hands, and the teacher drops in relevant links for the students to click on. Students reported liking the alternative approach to the classroom, offering such benefits as “It’s cool to do from home” and “We don’t fall asleep.” Mr. Kolani acknowledged that students can log on early or not participate in class discussion in this nontraditional format, but he believes that these students “are fooling nobody” and that “those who do log on often stay long after the class is over.” (Anderson, 2011).

Describe how your psychological responses differ depending on the learning environment. Describe the difference between the Relational or Analytical learning styles. Do you think online classrooms are more suited to a particular learning style? Why or why not? An analytical learning style the learner may comfortable learning independently and factual material and they seem to learn best when there are certain routines and systematic strategies in classrooms. In relational style the learner enjoys working together with his/her peers and need structured but related to their own experiences and interests. Teachers are then challenged to have a cooperative and competitive classroom atmosphere for both types of learners.

learning styles are a way to enhance the quality of learning, so i dont think online classroom are suited to any particular learning styles.online learning found sucessful when providing a clear and coherent structure of the learning material, in supporting self-regulated learning, and in distributing information.

online learning environments should be designed and implemented to accommodate individual differences . online learning are more effective due to flexibility ,independence, lower stress, money saving.
