Answer #1

In the current dynamic world, the possibilities of doing a job have got a breakthrough. Earlier the concept of doing a job was meant by the physical presence of an employee in an office, but now with the arrival of the concept of online job, this has changed. The following are the major differences between working online and offline.

  • Working online definitely requires the internet in order to log into the platform in which the work is being completed. At the same time, offline work doesn’t necessarily need internet connectivity.
  • The work done is saved on a real-time basis and is synchronized into the cloud or any other platform in which the work is being stored in case of an online work. But in offline works, the tasks could even be done and stored in an intranet portal or a computer.
  • For offline work to be done, it usually requires the physical presence of the employee in the organization as there is no other way to update the progress or to know the working status of the employee. Online work of a junior employee can be monitored and tracked by a senior employee from anywhere anytime. The login time of the employee can be considered as the time he or she started to do the job.
  • Offline jobs, since it requires the presence of employees at a particular place, is considered to be usually more productive. In case of an offline job, the employee could encounter various distractions in between as they aren’t directly supervised by a person on what they are doing right now. The employee could be still logged in and doing other tasks, making its productivity level a bit less than that of the offline mode of employment.
  • Working from distance or work from home is most feasible in the case of online jobs, whereas it is made a bit difficult for work that is usually offline in nature. In the current pandemic situation of COVID-19, many organizations are switching their mode of operations online.
  • In organizations with online mode of working, the security systems should always be on top-notch in order to prevent any kind of loss of data or security breach. Offline job is not as vulnerable as the online job.
