4. Describe three HR initiatives your organization or an organization you are familiar with should implement, why they should be implemented, and the expected outcomes if they are implemented.

I work for a manufacturing company, which works 6 days a week. Not many women employees can be seen in leadership roles in my company as many go the family way, at certain stage in their lives. Also the company has been losing some of the most talented employees due to lack of flexibility in the company.

The HR initiatives which my company must implement, to solve the above-mentioned problems are:

• Leadership development for women employees
  • Formulation of The Corporate Leadership Women Team (CLWT) will facilitate the same. This team will be committed to the advancement of women employees and employees from diverse backgrounds in the company, helping to ensure that their skills and insights are well represented throughout our global company, and at all levels of leadership. The CLWT continues to be actively involved in events and programs that promote mentoring, sponsorship, the development of leadership skills, flexibility and increasing representation of women at all levels.
  • This will help in breaking the glass ceiling in the company and women employees will be encouraged to take leadership roles.
• Work from home initiative
  • This policy will be formulated to facilitate the desire to do work. The employee can work from anywhere, just his work objectives must be met and deadlines must be respected.
  • This initiative will help in retaining employees with the company.
• Flexi timings
  • This policy was also devised keeping the working mothers in mind. These women are given the option to personalize their work timings so that they don’t face any difficulty in raising their family.
  • This will help the women employees maintain a work life balance and thus perform stress-freely in the company.
