80 year old male. admitted 2 weeks ago with chest
pain, despite colleagues best efforts, he died.
He had 6 months history of angina, treated with GTN 2-3 times per
week. he had excersize tolerance of 100 yards but was getting
worse. he was also an ex-smoker-stopped 10 years ago-he did not
drink, no other significant medical history. other drugs taken were
aspirin, GTN, Allopurinol and Diltiazem.
on examination, heart rate = 8p bpm, blood pressure 120/60 mmHg,
normal heart sounds.
a few bilateral reputations in long fields.
No abdominal masses
an ECG was taken upon initial admission.
He developed bradycardia, reduced respiratory rate, then went into
asystole
resuscitation was unfortunately unsuccessful.
