Answer #1

LUCA(Last Universal Common Ancestor).

LUCA is most recent common ancestor proposed of all living organisms which evolved some 3.5-3.8 billion years ago. LUCA is thought to be single celled organism. Charles Darwin in his book 'ORIGION OF SPECIES' also mentioned that there was a single common ancestor of all the life on earth.

Similarities with all living organisms...........

common biochemistry

presence of central dogma

presence of ATP and NADPH

The group of organisms humans belong to is relatively small. All living organisms share a common ancestor, as evidenced by the commonality of DNA and ribosomes. Humans are not a unique form of life. Our ability to learn about the natural world does provide us an advantage over many species, especially if we use this advantage wisely. Antibiotics are prevalent in bacteria and fungi, whereas other drugs are derived from plants. Humans are not the most common species on Earth....

The Hershey Chase experiment using radioactively labeled bacteriophage to infect bacteria proved that DNA was the genetic material. If you were reviewing those experimental results, which of the following would provide evidence that DNA was the genetic material? Select all that would apply. a) The DNA was localized in the cytoplasm of the bacterial cell, which is the same site that the bacterial chromosome is located. b) Radioactively labeled viral proteins were only found outside the cell and the viral...

My Classes MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION Evolution - It's a Thing, Not a Debate Evolution is what makes life possible because it allows organisms to adapt to a never-changing environment. It's also responsible for the diversity and complexity found in all living things on planet Earth. Though organisms exhibit a number of differences, there are, without a doubt, similarities among all living creatures as they have been traced to a common microorganism ancestor 3.8 billion years ago. Despite a plethora of...
