Answer #1

Confidence Interval
ar{X} pm t_{alpha /2, n-1} S/sqrt{n}
/2,n-1to.1/2,15-1- 1.761
2.4 t 0.1/2.15-1 * 0.8/v/15
Lower Limit = 2.4 -t 0.1/21 5-10.8/V15
Lower Limit = 2.0362
Upper Limit = 2.4+t0.1/2.1 5-10.8/V15
Upper Limit = 2.7638
90% Confidence interval is ( 2.0362 , 2.7638 )

Population mean  mu lies in the interval  ( 2.0362 , 2.7638 )

Interpretation :- If repeated samples are drawn and confidence interval is calculated, then 90% of the population mean lies in the interval  ( 2.0362 , 2.7638 ) .
