• What's Missing from the Constitution?
  • Our Constitution is an amazing document. One of the brilliant elements about the document is that our founding parents allowed for a way for the Constitution to change and evolve as the country changed and evolved. This evolution has been seen 27 times....in the 27 Amendments of the governing document. After studying the Constitution, in your opinion, is there something that should be changed or an Amendment that needs to be added? If so, what and why? If not, why is the Constitution perfect as it is?

If I can amend the Constitution, I will add a provision for the elimination of life-term for federal courts, especially the Supreme Court. I would replace it with a longer, non-inevitable word over 20 years. Furthermore, I believe that the post of Chief Justice should be renewable not for life but a four-year term.

This reform would reduce the intensity of the debate on court nominations because the stakes would not be so high; This would ease the pressure to appoint young judges who would spend maximum time in court; This would reduce the stress on federal judges so that members of the opposite party could select their replacements to avoid the retirement date, And it will bring fresh blood and thinking to the judicial system.
