a) Nasal cavity ( divided into 3 regions: I-Vestibular region has oil gland and tiny hair to filter air and trap dust paticles etc. II- Respiratory region has a layer of pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium which secretes mucuos. III- Olfactory region which receives smell.)

b) Larynx or Voice box: It is made up of cartilages and controls air flow to lungs. It has vocal chords( 2 ligaments) when air passes through them they vibrate to produce sound.

c) Trachea or wind pipe: It is surrounded by C- shaped cartilagenous rings which protect it from collapsing even im the absence of air.

d) Lung (Right): Lung receives air from Trachea through Bronchus. It has trachea tree. It has alveoli which is the sight for gaseous exchange between lungs and blood capillaries.

e)Bronchus- Near the lungs trachea bifurcates and form 2 primary Bronchi ie; left and right Bronchi , which enter and carry air into and from left and right lungs respectively

f) Bronchiole- Bronchus divides into fine tube like stucture to form bronchioles.

g) Diaphragm- Dome shaped muscles which support both the lungs. At the time of inhalation it contracts and becomes flat so that volume of thoracic cavity increases and lungs can expand while during exhalation it relaxes and become dome shaped results in decreased volume of thoracic cavity.
