Answer #1

Seafloor spreading is the process in geology in which the large slabs of earth's lithosphere in tectonic plates splits apart from each other . Seafloor spreading and tectonic activity is due to the process of mantle convection. The mantle convection process is slow, stirring motion of the earth's mantle. The heat from the lower mantle and core are carried by the convection currents to the lithosphere. The recycling of lithospheric materials get back to the mantle is also done by the convection currents.

At the divergent plate boundaries, where the seafloor spreading occurs.when the tectonic plate move away from each other heat are generated and the heat from the mantle convection currents will leads to be more plastic and lesser in density. As we know the less dense material rises and an elavated area of seafloor is formed
