Ans) There is direct relation between fuel cost and speed higher is the speed higher will be fuel used by ship, higher will be the cost and it will not utilize the resources, as the main issue of an economy for management. The slow steaming is considered necessary as by this process many ship move with good average i.e by using less fuel therefore less cost higher is the average given by a ship in particular destination. If slow steaming process is not used then the life of ship will reduce, the cost will be higher or we can say the ship owner will face loss from all round. Higher is the average lower will be the depreciation of the ship higher will be the performance. So there is direct relation between cost and speed. Slow steaming is the process which is used by almost every ship owner to reduce the cost of fuel as this was also found in researched that this practice is followed by many ship to increase the performance of ship or to increase the average of ship.
