13.5 % sucrose by mass means 13.5 g sucrose present in 100 g solution

mass of solvent = 100 - 13.5 = 86.5 g

molality = (W /MW) (1000 / mass of solvent in g)

molality = (13.5 / 342.30) (1000 / 86.5)

molality = 0.456 m
