Let X be the binomial random variable with n=10 and E(X)=3

(a)

We know:

E(X) = n*p=3

+ E(X) = 10 * p = 3

+p=3/10 = 0.3

Hence the required probability is 0.3

Also

X ~ Binomial(10,0.3)

P(X = 1) = (29) + 0.3* +0,710-4

a)

P(X = 3) = (19) *0.3° +0.710-3 = 0.2668279

b)

P(3< X < 7) = P(X = 4) + P(X = 5) + P(X = 6)

-0.2001209 +0.1029193 +0.0367560 = 0.3397972

c)

P(X > 1) = 1 - P(X = 0) = 1 - *0.30 * 0.710-0
