For compound A , retardation factor, Rf = distance travelled by compound A/distance travelled by solvent

= 3.0 cm / 7.0 cm

= 0.43

For compound B , retardation factor, Rf = distance travelled by compound B/distance travelled by solvent

= 4.5 cm / 7.0 cm

= 0.64

In normal chromatography mobile phase is a polar solvent .

So polar solvent dissolves the polar compound and it travel the polar compound along with this so polar compounds will ellute.

Therefore compound B is more polar.
