Answer #1

The National Priority List (NPL) contains the most serious uncontrolled and hazardous waster disposal sites present throughout USA. one of the major concerns will be presence of uncontrolled radioactive waste. Radioactive waste as we know can have severe affect not only on the health but also on the Genes of the population living which will cause diseases and problems with the future generations to come. The radioactive waste can infiltrate ground water and pollute ground water, and treatment of radioactive waste is extremely difficult and cannot be done in a small community or household.

Naturally diseases and other disease causing  mosquitoes and germs will breed in the locality. The site will give a unpleasent atmosphere for the people living nearby. This concerns are sustained because half-life of radiactive materials are high enough for them to stay for 100's to millions of years, and also once groundwater of nearby water source (lake, river) is polluted is if difficult to retrive it.
