To make you understand the meaning of this quote, I may have to quote something inspired by some book. I can't mention the book due to our policies but will answer your question :)
There could be a numerous amount of things you can do and will benefit from them or they'll benefit form you. Let's say you can be a doctor, an engineer, a scientist, a soldier, an administrator, an entrepreneur, Or let's say you become a social worker, there are a million number of things you can do, for the race, for sex, for kids, for inequality, for this for that. But your level of commitment and affiliation will vary, of course, maybe you'll be much more inclined towards the cause of race equality, maybe feminism, maybe child labour, maybe class inequality or maybe LGBTQ cause. BUt out of these few too, you'll have to work non-compromisingly on the one or two causes of these let's say class inequality and child labour. These are the causes you'll have to take your stand on. Non-compromising. They'll require your full commitment and there can be absolutely no compromise and full dedication. The 100% of you and these are the Hills you'll fight on. These are the hills you'll have to pick to fight on. You can't fight for everything, you won't even find everything worth fighting for, But when you do, and for whatever you do, that is your hill.
Hope I was able to make the point clear to you, This I the hill I picked to fight on :) Thumbs_UP please :D
