Subnet 5: 750 PCs, 50 servers, 50 IP phones and 25 scanners

Total number of hosts are there in each subnets are:

Subnet 1: 5000 + 100 + 10 + 21 = 5131

Subnet 2: 2500 + 45 + 4 + 100 = 2649

Subnet 3: 1500 + 75 + 200 + 25 + 250 = 2050

Subnet 4: 1000 + 250 + 250 = 1500

Subnet 5: 750 + 50 + 50 + 25 = 875

Number of bits required to address the highest number host subnet = Ceil(log2(5131)) = 13

Thus remaining bits that are available in the total available bits allotted for the hosts = 16 – 13 = 3

Thus number of bits borrow = 3

Number bits that can be used to address the subnets = 3

Total number of subnets = 23 = 8

Each subnets have 13 bits to address the hosts, thus total number of hosts = 8*213 = 65536

Total number of hosts = 65536
