Answer #1

answer : If a magnesium strip was dropped into a Cu2+ solution a reaction will occur

explanation:

Mg reduction potential = -2.38 V

Cu reduction potential = 0.34 V

so Mg can displace Cu+2 but Cu cannot displace Mg+2

net reaction:

Mg + Cu+2 (solution ) ---------------> Mg + Cu+2

Cu + Mg+2 (solution ) ------------------> no reaction
