Answer #2

SOLUTION :

P(x) = 3.14 x^2 - 23.88 x + 173.86  (thousand dollars)

where,

P = price of a house in thousand dollars

x = years since 2006.

So,

Rate of change of price per year since 2006

= dP/ dx

= 3.14 * 2 x - 23.88  (thousand dollars per year since 2006)

So, model of rate of change of price is :

P’ (x) = 6.28 x - 23.88

where,

P’(x) = rate of change of price per year since 2006

x = years since 2006 .
