Answer #1

Glycolysis uses following chemicals :

1) ADP : Used in steps 7 and 10. 2 molecules of ADP are used for each molecule of Glucose consumed, generating 2 molecules of ATP per step. Thus, total 4 molecules of ATP are produced from 4 molecules of ADP in steps 7 and 10 per molecule of Glucose reacted.

2) NAD + : NAD+ is used in oxidation of Glyceraldehyde 3-Phosphate in step no. 6. Also, it produces a proton (H+) in this reaction, which is used in step no. 10.

3) ATP : ATP is used in step number 1 and 3. That is, for formation of Glucose 6-Phosphate and formation of fructose 1,6 biphosphate respectively. It serves as source of phosphate groups. 2 molecules of ATP are used for each molecule of Glucose consumed in glycolysis.

4) Glucose : This is the basic starting material for Glycolysis.

5) Inorganic Phosphate : This is required for synthesis of ATP in the body. Though not directly related anywhere, inorganic phosphates are critically important.

These five are the correct choices
