Answer :- The given statement is FASLE.

Reason -: According to defition of gauge pressure," The gauge pressure is the difference between the absolute pressure at a point and the atmospheric pressure at same point.

Thus if absolute pressure , P = 3.5 atm

And we have atmospheric pressure at the same point is = 1 atm , therefore

Gause pressure at that point will be = 3.5 - 1 = 2.5 atm..
