Pick a city in the US that you would like to travel to. Pretend you have a $950 budget to travel to this city for a four night vacation. Do some research and write up a basic budget of how you plan to spend that money — include travel to and from the city, accommodations, food, activities, and any other expenses.
Choose a publicly traded company that interests you and find the price of its stock on your last birthday and yesterday. Calculate the difference in its stock value between yesterday and your last birthday. Calculate how much you would have made or lost if you had purchased 1000 shares of that stock on your last birthday and sold it yesterday. Show all your calculations in your response.

Answer #1

Answer to Question No. 1

For the purpose of this question we have considered travel from New York to Las Vegas.

Here is the budget for a 4 Night vacation to Las Vegas:

  1. Flight Cost (Round trip) Ex New York   - $225
  2. Hotel accommodation in 4 Star Hotel @ $80 per night - $320
  3. Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) @$50 per night - $ 200
  4. Activities: Visit to Grand Canyon, Fremont Street and Hollywood Boulevard - Cost including Cab fares and entry tickets – $ 205

Total Budget of the trip = $225 + $320 + $200 + $205 =$950

Answer to Question No. 2

For the purpose of this question we have taken stock of Apple Inc.

The price of stock on my last birthday (1 Apr 2019) was $ 191.24

Total Investment = $ 191.24 X 1000 shares = $ 191240

And the price yesterday (21 Aug 2019 ) was $212.64

Market Value = $212.64 X 1000 shares = $212640

Profit on sale = $212640 - $191240 = $ 21400

Return on Investment = $21400 / $191240 = 11.2%
