A gas occupies a volume of 88.2 mL at 35oC. What will be the volume occupied if it is heated at constant pressure to 155oC?

For ideal gases to constant pressure, we use the Charles's Law:

\frac{V_{1}}{T_{1}}=\frac{V_{2}}{T_{2}}

Our data are: V1=88.2mL, T1=35°C, T2=155°C.

We clear V2 and substitute the data to calculate V2

V2=(88.2mL)(35°C)/155°C

V2=122.6mL
