The dam broke and flooded local valleys. The flow-rate, r(t); measured in thousands of acre-feet per minute, was measured at regular intervals, t minutes after the dam failed. Using the data given, t and r(t) ,formula to estimate the volume of water that went into the local valleys.

RATE=r(t) means quantity (volume) of water flowed per unit time

i.e. Volume of water time v u=t*r(t) ,

Total 5895

The estimate of volume of water that went into local valleys=sum=5895 thousands of acre-feet.
