Since the Retrosynthesis couldn't involve witting.the approach is written below

1. First we go from alkene to precursor bromide, which can be obtained easily from alchol. The alcohol fragment can be generated from addition reaction of grignard reagent with acetone. The griganard reagent comes from corresponding bromide. Styrene is ideal candidate for starting material.

Explanation of synthesis: addition of HBr to styrene using hydrogen peroxide results in addition of Br to less substituted end of alkene. The treatment with bromide with Mg results in formation of griganard reagent. The nucelophilic addition of grignard reagent to acetone gives corresponding alcohol. The OH group is replaced by Br via SN1 reaction with HBr. Then, E1- elimination produces the final product.
