Consider the following equilibrium reaction occurring in aqueous solution at 24.7 degrees C.

2A(aq) + B(aq) 3C(aq) + D(aq)

If 25.00mL of 0.0350M A(aq) is mixed with 8.37mL of 0.0300M B(aq) and allowed to come to equilibrium, the absorbance due to the colored product D(aq) is found to be 0.561. The calibration equation shows that Absorbance = 455.8 [D(aq)] + 0.012. Based on the experimental data, calculate the value of the equilibrium constant. Assume the volumes are additive.

b.) If the equilibrium mixture is put into an ice bath and the measured absorbance is 0.389, is the reaction endothermic or exothermic? (Circle one.) Endothermic Exothermic
