1> What are three reasons (or conditions) why a manufacturer would use an industrial distributor to distribute the manufacturer's products?

Ans. -

The three reasons are - I> A manufacturer can gather information about competitors

II> A manufacturer can distribute his/her products to the customers in different geographical areas

III> A manufacturer can get feedbacks from different customers which help him/her to improve the product quality and update features

2. What are three reasons (or conditions) why a manufacturer would use a manufacturers' rep to distribute the manufacturer's products?

Ans. -

The three reasons are - I> A manufacturers' rep try to sell the various products to one customer. It will build the customer awareness of alternative products

II> A manufacturers' rep help to promote a new product of the manufacturer to different geographical areas

III> A manufacturer can get economic benefits by using a manufacturers' rep. As a manufacturers' rep can get commissions for selling products to customers. So for this commission, a representative will try to sell more products and that gives the benefits to the manufacturer.

3> Would a manufacturer ever use both industrial distributors and manufacturers' reps at the same time?

Ans. - Yes, A manufacturer can use both industrial distributors and manufacturers' reps at the same time. As the distributors and representatives both are promoting and selling the products to different customers.

The distributors can sell the products in some areas where they have own stores. But the representatives can sell the products in different areas. So in this way, a product can be sold in all areas and the manufacturer gets the benefits.

A manufacturer can reach to all kind of customers and get their feedback by using both industrial distributors and manufacturers' reps.

Also, a manufacturers' rep can tell different customers about all products in the distributor's stores. In this way, a representative promotes the product and the distributor's store to different customers. As a result, many customers will come to the stores and buy the products.

That's why I am saying that a manufacturer can use both at the same time.
