Why are there up to four daughter strands being synthesized at any one time during bacterial DNA replication?

Ans. There is formation fo replication bubble at the time of replication of DNA by the action of helicase enzyme. In a replication bubble, synthesis of daughter DNA strands occur on both sense and antisense strands of DNA . DNA synthesis occurs in both directions from the centre of replication bubble. Hence, two strands on one side from the centre of replication bubble and two strands on the opposite side of bubble are used as template synthesizing four daughter strands simultaneously. Hence, four DNA daughter strands are synthesized simultaneously during DNA replication in bacteria.
