Answer #1

Let R1=1.2\times102 ohm ,R2=2.6k ohm=2.6\times103 ohm R3=3.6k ohm=3.6\times103 ohm

Part a.

If R1 , R2 and R3 connected in series then

Rs=R1+R2 +R3=1.2\times102+2.6\times103+3.6\times103=6.32 kilo -ohm

Part b.

If R1 , R2 and R3 connected in parallel then

1/Rs=1/R1+1/R2 +1/R3=1/1.2\times102+1/2.6\times103+1/3.6\times103=0.11 kilo -ohm

    (9%) Problem 3: A bicyclist notes that the pedal sprocket has a radius of rp = 9.5 cm while the wheel sprocket has a radius of rw = 6.5 cm. The two sprockets are connected by a chain which rotates without slipping. The bicycle wheel has a radius R = 64 cm. When pedaling the cyclist notes that the pedal rotates at one revolution every t= 1.4 s. When pedaling, the wheel sprocket and the wheel move at the same...

    (33%) Problem 3: Warm blooded animals are home otherm that is, they maintain an approximately constant body temperature. (For humans it's about 37°C.) When they are in an environment that is below their optimum temperature, they use energy derived from chemical reactions within their bodies to warm them up One of the ways that animals lose energy to their environment is through radiation. Every object emits electromagnetic radiation that depends on its temperature. For very hot objects like the sun,...
