   acceleration of the object a = 0.850g = 0.850*9.8 = 8.33 m/s2

because of force acting on the object displaces 0.460 cm frome equilibrium (x)

we know that

From Newton's second law F = ma and F = kx ==> k = F/x = ma/x = 4.65*10^-3*8.33/0.46*10^-2 = 8.420 N/m


16. length of the room L = 8.66 m, bredth B= 6.2 m

area of the triangle shaped room is A = L*b= 8.66*6.2= 53.692 m^2
