A1. Tenancy at sufferance

A landlord allows any renter or tenant to use his property through a contract mutually accepted by both parties. Referred to as the lease, the contract specifies the period for which the tenant can use the property owners' property. In this case, the tenant's contract with the owner has expired and he has not yet vacated the property.

This can be referred to as Tenancy at sufferance where the original contract between the owner and tenant has expired. The tenant here would be considered as a holdover tenant.
