Answer #1

Option (A) $26,400 is the correct answer

Calculation of Work -in -Process at the End of September:

Job A

                                  Direct Labour = $4,000

Factory overheads (120% of $4,000) = $4,800

        Total Work in Process for Job A = $4,000 + $4,800

                                                 = $8,800

Job C

                                 Direct Labour = $8,000

Factory overheads (120% of $8,000) = $9,600

       Total Work in Process for Job A = $8,000 + $9,600

                                                = $17,600

Total work in process at the end of September:

                                                   =$8,800 + $17,600

                                                   =$26,400
