0              -1            +1 -2

Step 1- Balance the atom being reduced/oxidized.

Step 2- Balance the oxygens- by adding H2O

Step 3 - Balance the hydrogens- by adding H+

Step 4- Balance the total charge - by adding e-

1-Oxidation 1/2 Reaction ------->Br2 ---->2 BrO-

reduction 1/2 reaction ------> Br2 --->2 Br-

2 - Br2+2H2O---->2BrO- (oxidation)

     Br2---->2Br-(red.)

3- Br2+2H2O---->2BrO- +4H+ (oxd)

    Br2---->2Br-(red.)

4- Br2+2H2O---->2BrO- +4H+   +2e- (oxd)

     Br2 + 2e- ---->2Br-(red)

2Br2 +2H2O -----> 2Br- + 2BrO- +4H+
