Answer #1

Considering length of the transmission line in Kilometers. The lenth of Transmission in 100 mi.

1 Mile = 1.60 KM.

100 Miles = 160 KM. Therefore the length of the transmission line is (l) = 160 KM.

Given Data:

Apparent Power delivered by the Transmissioin line (S) = 55 MVA.

Load Power Factor = 0.8 Lagging.

Load votage or Receiving end line to line terminal voltage (VR) = 132 KV.

The three lines are having only Single conductors and are arranged in the Horizontal fashion with a spacing of 11.9ft.

but 1ft = 0.3048 meters(m)

11.9ft = 3.63m.

wire temperature is assumed to be 50

Let us assume that radius of each conductor (r) = 1m.

and also assume that resistivity of the conductor be 1 -m.
