The sand has a rolling resistance of 120 lb per wheel and the crash barrels provide a resistance given by F(X) 600X2 where the force F is in lbs and X is in ft. Determine the distance X the 3120 lb truck before stopping by penetrating the barrels if the truck's brakes fail. The truck has a speed of 70 mph when it approaches point A. The sand bed is 70 feet long and neglect the size of the truck. (70 mph= 102.7 ft/sec.) Use the work-energy equation to solve the problem.
