Ans As elevator starts from rest ,u = 0 m/s

Final velocity = v = 9.5 m/s

Time = t= 2.3 s

Therefore , acceleration = a = v - u/ t

a = 9.5- 0 /2.3 = 9.5/2.3 = 4.13 m/s^2

As elevator is accelerating downwards

Apparent weight = m(g-a) = m(9.8-4.13) = 5 .67m

Actual weight = mg = 9.8m

Where , m is the mass of object.

Now , apparent weight / actual weight = 5.67m/9.8m

= 0.58

=58%
