Answer #1

SORBENTS:

Sorbents are materials that can soak up oil from the water by either absorption and adsorption.

These are classified into natural and synthetic types

These are further classified into organic and inorganic sorbents.

A) APOLAR COMPOUNDS:

1)By micro-sized plastic particles in aqueous solution.

2)Evaluation of an in-injection port thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method for analysis in ambient aerosol.

3)Fiber-optic evanescent wave sensor for in situ determination in water.

B) POLAR COMPOUNDS:
1)On-line trace enrichment of phenolic compounds from water using a pyrrole-based polymer.

2)Soil organic matter as a nanoporous sorbent of organic pollutants.

C) IONIZED COMPOUNDS:

1)   Distribution of hydrophobic ionogenic organic compounds between octanol and water.

2)Design and evaluation of ionic liquids as novel CO2.
