The packing fraction of hcp is 0.76. In ABAB type of packing regular hexagon is formed that and has vacancy of 24%while the no of octahedral void is same as zeffective whereas the no of tetrahedral void is twice the zeffective size of tetrahedral void is less than the octahedral void.
