Students were randomly assigned into 2 groups and these 2 groups were treated in 2 different ways.

Further, all students of both groups know about what is implementing upon them i.e. they are not blind about the factors which are implemented upon them.

We know, the subjects in the experimental group are exposed to the variable being tested whereas the subjects in the control group remain away from this variable.

So, the study design is as follows.

• The group getting smoking cessation intervention is the experimental group as they are kept under certain condition (not smoking) of the test.
• The group watching a video on the health effects of smoking is the control group as certain compulsory rules of the test are not followed by them. They are merely observed some videos which may influence them to prevent smoking or not.
