1) option B. A population contains no variation.

Reason: This was not present in the four postulates given by Darwin. According to darwin's postulates, populations always exhibit individual variation in appearance and behavior. so, the above mentioned statement doesn't support Darwin's thought of adaptive evolution.

Reason: Robin seeley carried out research and compared shells in between two of the snail populations on Appledore Island and found that after the arrival of green crab on the island in 1980, the snails have evolved and the thickness of their shells considerably increased. These snails are known as Darwanian shells.
