You have a low voltage lighting system that requires a 24 V RMS source, but all that is available is the 120 V RMS outlet on the wall (frequency of 60 Hz).

  1.    If you make a transformer with the primary coils hooked up to the source voltage and the secondary coils hooked up to the lighting system, how many coils would you design the primary and secondary coils of the transformer to have?
  2.    How would the power dissipated through the primary coils compare to that dissipated at the secondary?

(c) Write an expression for the voltage from the outlet as an expression of time (i) first in generic form without variables filled in, (ii) then with all variables filled in that you can fill in from numbers in the earlier sections of the problem.
