Authority can be considered as a position while leadership is the character of the real player . Authority can never grant any person on automatic devotion, nor does it has much scope in inspiring those around the person.. It lends the person the necessary power to give orders, but a people leader will realizes their importance of role and involves much more than the requirements. The challenge is many get misinterpret between leadership and authority and sometimes authorised person wanted to grow as leader. But leadership need more skill sets like people management, effective communication, negotiation, convincing etc where authority is more on executing power which is given by nature of job or position.
