Answer #1

As a examiner it is vital to know developmental psychology for identifying disabilities because awareness of developmental milestones is important in screening for developmental disabilities.

For example a child who is 20 months old and shows no signs of attempting to walk is likely to be screened by a clinician for the possible presence of a developmental disability since most children attempt to walk sometime around 12 months of age.

Developmental psychology is very important as its study is essential to understanding how humans learn mature and adapt. This field examines change across three major dimensions: physical development ,cognitive development ,and social emotional development.
