People with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) commonly report memory impairments. These are persistent, debilitating and reduce quality of life, but patients do not routinely receive memory rehabilitation after discharge from hospital.
A study was conducted to To assess the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a group memory rehabilitation program for people with TBI.
Clusters of four to six participants were randomised to the memory rehabilitation arm or the usual-care arm.
In the memory rehabilitation arm 10 weekly sessions of a manualised memory rehabilitation program were provided in addition to usual care. The usual-care arm received usual care only
CONCLUSION: The group memory rehabilitation delivered in this trial is very unlikely to lead to clinical benefits or to be a cost-effective treatment for people with TBI in the community.
This is just a brief explanation of a research. I am supposed to Suggest ideas for future research about the same subject and i need an opinion for that.
Well this Idea of research was also better because atleast we can make a conclusion on the basis of these factors that it is much costly and its effects are not upto the mark as the money being spent. So Next time when we will conduct a research about the same subject in future, then we can carry olu the research ,on the basis of that how much people can afford this memory rehabilitation programs on daily basis and how many found it costly. So that we can think of some improvement in this field. And my opinion about this is that the memory rehabilitation can be done on the gaps of some more weeks to reduce the expenses of the patients. And also the usual care is required ,and the patient should be given much care in that period.
