What role does the government have to “police” our property rights, that is, to establish ordinances to regulate property appearance and conditions, property line setbacks, grass and weed control, trash or hazardous materials, abandon motor vehicles or the parking of RVs in the front yard.

The government establishes rules and regulations to maintain the neighborhood or they call it neighborhood preservation. This is to avoid conditions, which are offensive or annoying to the senses, detrimental to property value and the neighborhood appearance, obstruction or interference to the enjoyment of the neighborhood or adjacent property, or if anything is hazardous or injurious to overall health, safety or welfare of the general public. This is to ensure there is no nuisance in the community or neighboring areas.

To avoid the nuisance activities the governments have a right to police the people to ensure the following:

• Safeguard the health, welfare, and safety of the community by marinating property in god safe and appropriate condition.
• To enhance the general value and economic welfare of the city by having regulations for the maintenance and upkeep of the properties in the region.
• To promote a sound and attractive appearance of the community
• To allow corrective methods to address conditions which impact or threaten the public health, safety or welfare by defining the circumstances or instances which are considered illegal.
• The laws will also ensure abatement of any nuisance and initiate actions as per law to avoid illegal activities as defined by the laws.
• To ensure the safe disposal of garbage to avoid the same becoming a health hazard.
• To ensure the vehicles, broken down equipment etc
