A heat pack is a mixture of chemical substances separated by a thin membrane in a plastic pouch which when rubbed, breaks the membrane and mixes the chemical substances and produces heat for a long time to reduce the swelling and pain.
Metals are very good conductors of heat. If metals are used in heat packs they will quickly lose heat to the surrounding and heat pack will become useless too soon.

Why is energy/heat released when a metal reacts with water?
Compound I suffers from poor oral exposure in rat. Propose TWO molecules you would make to try and improve oral exposure. Explain why each molecule should exhibit improved oral exposure compared to I. (c) Compound I suffers from poor oral exposure in rat. Lab 11: Calorimetry: The Determination of the Specific Heat of a Metal directions exactly. How would the experiment POST-LABORATORY QUESTIONS 1. In doing this experiment, a student did not follow the directions exactly. How we be affected if the following were done? a. Glass beakers were used to make the calorimeter instead of Styrofoam cups. b. Not all of the water was delivered from the 50 mL volumetric pipet to the calorimeter c. No plot of temperature was carried out....
What would have happened to a calculation of the specific heat of your metal in the second trial if you had not carefully dried the metal before reuse? Clearly explain your reasoning. NG 3 3. What would have been the effect on your calculation of the specific heat of the metal had you forgotten to add the correction for your calorimeter constant? Explain. 4. How would your data have been affected if you had failed to dry your calorimeter between...
