Answer #1

A heat pack is a mixture of chemical substances separated by a thin membrane in a plastic pouch which when rubbed, breaks the membrane and mixes the chemical substances and produces heat for a long time to reduce the swelling and pain.

Metals are very good conductors of heat. If metals are used in heat packs they will quickly lose heat to the surrounding and heat pack will become useless too soon.
