Answer #1

Three main objectives of TPS are:

1. Muri: Muri means overburden. TPS is designed to ensure that overburden in the system is eliminated and the design of manufacturing facility is such that overburden on a particular pine or manpower is not there.

2. Mura or inconsistency: TPS is designed to achieve consistency in the designing and manufacturing process. There must be no inconsistency and production must be according to the plan and process defined.

3. Muda or waste elimination: Any waste generated out of the production system must be eliminated and the process must be smooth and consistent. All seven forms of waste must be eliminated and waste generation must be as minimum as possible.

Toyota targets to achieve these objectives by being in line with it's mission and vision statements and making strategy which is in accordance with it's goals. Hence these objectives must be incorporated in it's strategic plans and must be executed.
