In CSMA/CD protocol, random variable R provides different delays to various stations when a collision has occurred.

--> No of values for is given by the formula 2n, where n is collision number.

--> Here collision number is : 3. So, number of values = 23 = 8

--> They are {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7}

--> R will be same If both select same value.

--> So probability is = 8 / 64

                                = 0.125
