Engineers have set specifications for a product so that the upper limit of the specification is 6 standard deviations above the population mean and the lower limit of the specification is 6 standard deviations below the population mean. Unfortunately, the engineers are wrong about the actual value of the population mean, it is in fact shifted 2 standard deviations toward the upper limit. Assuming a normal distribution, determine the probability that a part will be out of specification. Report your results as the expected number of parts that fail to meet specifications per million parts manufactured.

Events E1,E2,E3,and E4 are mutually exclusive with the following probabilities

P(E1)=2/8, P(E2)=3/8, P(E3)=2/8, P(E4)=1/8
